FlashLearn Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 28, 2026

1. No personal data collection

FlashLearn does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Your learning content remains stored locally on your device or in your browser unless you explicitly export or share it.

2. Information handled by the app

FlashLearn handles only the information you enter or generate while using it, such as:

  • deck titles and descriptions
  • flashcard questions and answers
  • study activity and ratings
  • quiz results
  • appearance settings

No account is required. The app does not contain advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or a developer-operated server.

3. Local storage and migration

On Android, FlashLearn stores data in the app's private local database. On the web, data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB.

When upgrading from an older release, the app may read prior local preferences once to migrate data into the new storage format. This migration does not transmit your information anywhere.

The web app also caches its own program files and resources for offline use, but this cache does not contain your decks, cards, study activity, or quiz results.

4. Export and import

Backup export and import are initiated by you and occur locally on your device or browser. An exported backup may contain all FlashLearn content in JSON format.

You control where that file is stored and who can access it. FlashLearn does not upload or retain a copy of exported backups.

5. Network requests and third parties

FlashLearn does not send your learning data to the developer or third parties. The web app makes only normal requests to the host that serves the app files.

Your hosting provider may process standard request metadata such as IP address, browser details, and request time under its own terms, but FlashLearn does not collect analytics or profile you.

6. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it within FlashLearn, clear the app or browser storage, or uninstall the app.

Android app data is excluded from system cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Exported backups remain wherever you choose to save them.

The developer never receives your learning data, so there is no server-side copy to retrieve or delete.

7. Security

FlashLearn relies on your device or browser to protect local storage. Keep your system updated, use a screen lock, and avoid sharing exported backups with untrusted parties.

No storage method can be guaranteed fully secure, especially on a compromised or unlocked device.

8. Children’s privacy

FlashLearn does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. All learning data is handled locally as described above.

9. Changes to this policy

If FlashLearn's data practices change, this policy and its effective date will be updated before any changed practices are released when required.
